VETERS.KZ is a team of like-minded people united by one passion – love for nature and its most diverse hobbies: hunting, fishing, mountaineering, tourism, and many others. We do not leave aside the theme of traveling, both in our native land and in distant countries.
We promote a careful attitude to the world around us as the only undeniable value. And the preservation of this treasure is impossible without the harmonious coexistence of the rapidly growing world population and nature.
First of all, we are talking about ecotourism as a direction that can meet human needs in the use of natural resources without jeopardizing their further reproduction. Given that there is no precise and generally accepted definition of ecotourism in our time, our team understands this phenomenon quite broadly. Namely – as an active form of human recreation, as a relationship between man and nature, based on the civilized use of natural resources without damaging nature itself (no doubt including in ecotourism such forms of nature use as hunting and fishing on the basis of an effective system of hunting and fishing facilities).
The «Veter Stranstviy» project is the first publication in Kazakhstan and Central Asia with a clear focus on ecotourism, nature conservation and rational use of fauna and flora. From 2006 to December 2022 the paper version of the magazine was published, then we changed the format and became a «digital edition».
Our edition is primarily aimed at the development of all possible types of ecotourism (scientific, cognitive, active, passive recreational, etc.) in the territory of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, but it is not limited only to this geography. We also aim to expand people’s knowledge of nature, protection of fauna, flora and environment, solving environmental problems – that is, without which ecotourism is impossible in principle.
We offer to the attention of nature lovers unique hunting and fishing stories, publish reports on travels and scientific expeditions, delve into the depths of biology and botany, encourage amateur study of fauna and flora, praise the achievements of extreme sportsmen, give our pages to writers, photographers, directors, artists and poets inspired by the beauty of nature. The interested reader will be able to find here substantial information on environmental legislation and regulatory framework governing the use of natural resources and will be aware of acute problems and possible solutions in the field of ecology and nature conservation. The publication will do its best to promote ecotourism as a philosophy among our compatriots, as well as serve as an information channel for foreign citizens wishing to visit the most beautiful corners of nature and enjoy the last havens of untouched wildlife in our country and neighboring countries.
We make VETERS.KZ together with you. By cooperating with the edition, our readers, authors and partners not only develop themselves, they enrich the society and contribute to the transformation of Kazakhstan into a civilized and developed tourist country that cherishes its unique heritage and is known for its highly careful attitude to its use.
It is gratifying that our goals fully coincide with the desire of the state to make a qualitative leap in the development of the tourism industry. At the same time, we realize that such a leap is impossible without enthusiasts like us who are infected with this idea.
There is an opinion that beauty will save the world and, therefore, mankind. However, the realities of today are such that the task of all responsible inhabitants of planet Earth is to save this beauty, the beauty of nature, from ourselves, people. To save it from barbaric destruction, to save it through EDUCATION and UPBRINGING of inner culture in ourselves and others, in order to bring to everyone, be it a resident of a megalopolis or a tiny village, the understanding of the need to preserve this priceless gift for future generations. Otherwise – ecological catastrophe and self-destruction of civilization. We are working to make every effort to prevent this from happening.
We believe that Kazakhstan and Central Asia are not only uranium mines, oil wells, and metallurgical plants. It is an amazing land with inimitable landscapes and unique flora and fauna. We believe that it is not natural wealth that should be sold, but the opportunity to admire it.
OUR MISSION IS TO UNLOCK THE TOURISM POTENTIAL OF KAZAKHSTAN, DEVELOP ECOTOURISM AND FOSTER A RESPECTFUL ATTITUDE TOWARDS NATURE.
Our mission is based on a system of values, which we have been brought up on and which we profess to others:
Respect
Respect for nature, respect for others, and respect for ourselves as a reflection of our own internal culture.
Professionalism
A professional approach to whatever we undertake, from packing a backpack and organizing a campfire to producing a magazine.
Law-abiding
Complying with the law, fighting ineffective legislation, and combating corruption – by example.
Passion
In order to appreciate and protect nature, every person should have some kind of hobby related to it. We appreciate people who care and contribute to increasing their number.
We realize that the task is not easy, but we firmly believe in the importance and success of the great work we undertake. This success depends entirely on our readers. We hope that in time we will be at the head of a large and growing audience of nature lovers.
